What do Good Fit / Borderline / Stretch and the match score mean?

These are our own heuristic, not an MOE calculation or guarantee. We compare your AL score to each school's historical cut-off AL (COP) — the AL of the last student admitted last year.

🟢 Good Fit — your AL is 2 or more points better (lower) than the best-matching posting group's COP.
🟡 Borderline — within 2 points of a group's COP, either side.
🔴 Stretch — worse (higher) than every group's COP by more than 2 points.

"Sort Results By" always controls the ordering within a group: either real straight-line distance (via OneMap, needs your postal code — the default if nothing is picked) or the AL score of the posting group your score actually qualifies for at that school. By default (heuristic checkbox unchecked), only schools your AL score actually falls within are shown, ordered purely by that "Sort Results By" choice. Tick "Use fit heuristic ranking" to group results by fit tier first — all 🟢 Good Fit schools, then 🟡 Borderline, then 🔴 Stretch — with "Sort Results By" only breaking ties within each tier. Past COPs are historical and indicative only — not a guarantee of this year's posting outcome.
